Beth Von Gemmingen, MA, LADC, LPCC

I have over 20 years of experience working with children, teens and adults and families in a variety of settings from inpatient/out-patient chemical dependency, juvenile corrections as well as hospital based psychiatric-environments.  I have 13 years of experience working with K-12 students from Elementary to Highschool. My experience includes working with anxiety, depression, grief/loss, relationship concerns, substance abuse and recovery as well as academic progress and college planning. I am skilled in CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused, Strength based as well as Trauma focused therapies. I view the counseling relationship as one that is built through collaboration, trust and authenticity.  Compassion, unconditional positive regard, a respect for individual differences and strengths are what I strive to bring to each and every counseling session.  I see counseling as an opportunity for change to gain self-awareness, insight, and create desired change by developing new skills to address and to be able to cope with painful emotions that get in the way and keep clients from actively participating in their own lives.
